These scam are already starting to circulate both via email and text message with victims falling foul of the worries and concerns over coronavirus. 50% of these reported have been attempts to purchase protective face masks from fraudulent sellers but we have also seen coronavirus-themed phishing emails purporting to be from HMRC with tax refunds available and from World Health organisations claiming to be able to provide the recipient with a list of coronavirus infected people in their area. The links lead to malicious websites or false payment pages.
